Frequently Asked Questions
Planning Your Ryde
How long is the tour?
Plan on about 2 hours for the full Tampa Rydables experience, including check-in, getting comfortable on your Rydable, the ride, and photo stops.
Where does it start?
Tours start at 410 E Madison St, Tampa, FL 33602 in downtown Tampa.
Where should I park?
There is garage parking in the building with the entrance around the corner off N. Florida Ave. Metered street parking and paid surface lots are also available nearby.
How early should I arrive?
Please arrive 15 minutes early so you can check in, meet your Rydable, and roll out with the group on time.
Riding A Giant Stuffed Animal, Somehow For Real
Is it easy to ride?
Yes. The controls are simple: squeeze to go, let go to stop. Your guide will help everyone get comfortable before the tour starts.
How fast do they go?
Depending on the model, Rydables can travel up to 4.25 mph or 7.5 mph. That is plenty zippy when you are cruising Tampa on a giant stuffed animal.
What is the age requirement?
Guests must be at least 12 years old to operate a Rydable by themselves.
What is the weight limit?
Rydables hold up to 325 or 350 lbs, depending on which model is used.
Can children ride with adults?
Some children may be able to ride as companion ryders with an adult. It depends less on age and more on whether the child can sit, hold on, and enjoy the full tour. Companion riders are an additional $29.
Can two people ride together?
Adults should plan to ride their own Rydable. Companion riders are meant for children who can safely sit and hold on with an adult.
Getting Ready
What happens if it rains?
Light rain does not always stop the tour. If thunder, lightning, or unsafe weather rolls in, we may delay, reschedule, cancel, or discontinue the tour.
What should I wear?
Dress for Tampa weather and wear comfortable shoes. Sunglasses, sunscreen, and a water bottle are smart ideas on sunny days.
What Tampa sights will we see?
Routes can include downtown Tampa, Tampa Theatre, Curtis Hixon Park, the Riverwalk, Armature Works, the University of Tampa, and other local favorites depending on the tour.
Are there restroom opportunities?
Please use the restroom before you arrive. Tours may include a quick break, but restroom access can depend on route timing and availability.
Can I bring a purse or backpack?
Small personal items are easiest. Bring only what you can comfortably keep with you during the ryde.
What happens if I am late?
Please arrive 15 minutes early. Tours cannot always wait for late arrivals, and missed tour time may not be refundable.
What is the cancellation policy?
Please see the Cancellation Policy page and the policy shown during FareHarbor checkout. The current site policy requires at least 48 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Approved cancellations made with at least 48 hours notice are refunded minus a $20 merchant services fee kept by Tampa Rydables to cover processing costs.
Is this good for birthdays, families, and groups?
Absolutely. Birthdays, families, friend groups, visitors, and locals who want to do something ridiculous together are exactly our kind of people.
